Late have I loved you, O Beauty so ancient and so new; late have I loved you! You were within me, and I was outside; and I sought you outside and in my loneliness fell upon those lovely things that you have made. You were with me, but I was not with you…. You called me and cried to me and broke open my deafness; you sent forth your beams and shone upon me and chased away my blindness; you breathed your fragrance upon me, and I drew in my breath and now I pant for you.

In a previous blog post I was talking about Bulgaria, and briefly mentioned the people. I spent a couple of hours one morning in the city, window shopping, and taking photos. I noticed something, all the women looked the same. What I mean by this is that they had the same look on their faces. They where angry, hard and stiff. I was feeling intimidated just walking around there, I did not feel very welcome. Then later I met some people and the difference was amazing!! I could not believe that these women where of the same nationality. Everything about them was different. They had JOY!! When they laughed their eyes shone. Their smiles showed love.
I was with them for 2 days and they started saying I love you, you are beautiful. First I thought, ‘How can you say that, you don’t even know me’ but them I realised they meant it. It was heartfelt. Then I was able to say it back to them, and I meant every word. Where have you ever experienced anything like that? Sincerity, Love and Joy. How did they get it, why are they so different…?? It’s easy and available to anyone.
